The Washington Post today announced it has created a robust literary calendar of streaming events, giving readers a resource for tracking virtual events they can attend around the country. The list is curated by The Post’s Book staff and consists of a continuously updated selection of events from bookstores, libraries, festivals, publishers and individual authors.

“Bookstores have always been about more than books. They provide communities where people can engage with each other and with thought-provoking words and ideas. That hasn’t changed just because we’re all stuck at home,” said Stephanie Merry, The Post’s Book Editor. “Bookstores are still giving us a platform to gather, and I hope that by creating a database for these events, we can offer readers a way to leave their homes – at least virtually – to enrich their lives while simultaneously suporting authors.”

Users can submit a virtual literary event for consideration by using the button on the upper right of the literary calendar page marked “+ Add event” and following the instructions in SceneThink. To have your event considered for publication in The Washington Post, you must make a separate entry using the location “Online – Washington Post”.
