Please join the CSIS International Security Program on Tuesday, June 11 at 12:00 p.m. EDT for a conversation with General Kenneth F. “Frank” McKenzie, Jr., USMC (Ret.), former Commander of United States Central Command, on his book, The Melting Point: High Command and War in the 21st Century. The discussion will be moderated by Emily Harding, Director of the Intelligence, National Security, and Technology Program, and Deputy Director of ISP, and will be followed by a book signing and reception.
The Melting Point dives into the intricate dynamics of military leadership and the pivotal role of civilian control over the armed forces. Through General McKenzie’s firsthand account, readers gain an insider’s perspective on the execution of high-stakes operations, including the strikes on Qassem Soleimani and leaders of ISIS and the complex withdrawal from Afghanistan. All the book proceeds will benefit the following charities: Semper Fi & America’s Fund, the Veterans Services Organizations, and The Citadel Foundation.
This event is made possible through general support to CSIS.
