Beloved Horrible Histories author is returning to York – with a new book specifically for adults!
The best-selling author Terry Deary is coming to York for a special event to preview his brand new book, ‘A History of Britain in Ten Enemies’.
Known for his Horrible Histories children’s books, this is his first book for an adult audience – but still bringing his trademark wit and humour with this entertaining romp through the greatest hits of British history.
Terry Deary: A History of Britain in Ten Enemies is at York Mansion House on Thursday 1 August 2024.
The event is part of the York Georgian Festival, which runs from Thursday 1 to Sunday 4 August.
Find out more about some of Britain’s formidable figures such as Boudica, Elizabeth I, and Churchill – and explore the question of how a common enemy can unite a nation far more effectively than a common friend.
Tickets are £5 and are available online. It is for 18+ only. The event will also include a complimentary glass of fizz.
Other events happening during the festival are a York Georgian Ball, a Bridgerton-themed candelit cruise, and family fun trails.
