THE UNIVERSITY of Reading is firing up the barbecue and checking the weather forecast anxiously as it prepares to host a community forum.
Held at Whiteknights campus, vice-chancellor Professor Robert Van de Noort will lead a session helping residents find out more about what goes on on campus, as well as sharing their feedback.
The event includes a panel-led discussion, with participants including representatives from Reading Borough Council, Wokingham Borough Council and Thames Valley Police.
Afterwards, people can stay and enjoy a barbecue and refreshments.
Molli Cleaver, the University of Reading’s community engagement manager at the University of Reading, said: “Our Community Forum events are growing in popularity and have proved to be a good way for the University to have direct engagement with our local residents, on issues which are important to them.
“Hosting events like this enables us to build stronger relationships with the local community, which in turn will lead to greater collaboration, and greater outcomes for all.”
The forum will take place in the Meadow Suite between 6pm-8.30pm on Thursday, June 13. Entry is free, but places should be booked in advance.
