Did you know that Tangipahoa Parish Library has an online book club? It’s called DearReader.com and it allows you to explore a new book every morning.
It’s very simple to get started. Just go to the library’s website – www.tangilibrary.com – and look under “My 24-Hour Library.” There you will find the Online Book Club link. Click on that and you will be taken to the Dear.Reader.com website. To subscribe put in your email address and you’re off and running. (DearReader does not share your email address with anyone else and your privacy is protected.)
DearReader.com gives you a wide range of genres from which to choose – fiction, non-fiction, teen, business, romance, good news, science fiction, mystery, thriller, pre-publication titles and classics. Select the ones that interest you.
DearReader.com will then begin emailing you a few pages of a book each day. If you find the samples you read to be interesting you can get copies from our library. If we don’t have copies of that book we can get it for you. It’s a great way to sample new books for a person who is busy and doesn’t have a lot of time to peruse the shelves.
This service is, as are all library materials and services, free. I myself have been a member for years and enjoy being introduced to new non-fiction books every week. I invite you to connect with DearReader.com today.
