Alia Bhatt, the acclaimed Bollywood actress, has added a new feather to her cap by stepping into the world of children’s literature. On June 16, 2024, Alia shared on Instagram that she has turned author with the release of her debut book, ‘The Adventures of Ed-a-Mamma: Ed Finds A Home.’

Alia’s Instagram caption was a heartwarming tribute to her own childhood filled with stories. “My childhood was full of storytelling and storytellers,” she reminisced. “And one day, I had a dream to bring out that child in me and put it into books for children.”
She expressed gratitude to her creative collaborators, Vivek Kamath, Shabnam Minwalla, and Tanvi Bhat, whose inputs and imagination helped bring the book to life.
The star, who shares a 19-month-old daughter named Raha with her ‘Brahmastra’ co-star and husband Ranbir Kapoor, excitedly shared the news with her followers. “A new adventure begins,” she wrote, holding up her debut book, beaming with pride.

‘Ed Finds A Home’ Children Book
For those eager to dive into Alia’s enchanting new world, she had good news, you can now find the books available online and in major bookstores. As per media reports, ‘Ed Finds A Home’ is the inaugural instalment in a series inspired by her kidswear brand, ‘Ed-a-Mamma,’ launched in 2020.
‘Ed Finds A Home,’ described as a picture book about caring for the planet and friendship with pets, is published by Puffin Books India, Penguin Books India’s children’s imprint.

In 2020, Alia ventured into entrepreneurship with the launch of ‘Ed-a-Mamma,’ a brand specialising in children’s wear, teens’ wear, and maternity wear. Last year, Reliance Brands, a subsidiary of Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Retail, acquired ‘Ed-a-Mamma’ for a reported sum of Rs 300-500 crore.
In addition to her entrepreneurial pursuits, Alia owns Eternal Sunshine Productions, her production house. The company released her dark comedy ‘Darlings’ on Netflix India in 2022. Alia is also co-producing Vasan Bala’s upcoming theatrical escape drama ‘Jigra’ with Dharma Productions, set to release on October 11.
